The Government of Thailand has clear cut policies that support the continuing growth of the health-care sector. In fact, our vision is forThailandto become the undisputed medical hub ofAsiain the near future. In this regard,Thailandhas, even more than just this vision, the commitment to ensure top-quality health care to the satisfaction of each patient. So, whenever you think of health, please think ofThailand.

FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL HEALTH CARE

Many people are aware that hai hotels rank among the top 20 worldwide because os the service and hospitality that are provided to the guests. The same criteria can be applied to Thai hospitals as they offer high-standard medical services paired with traditional Thai hospitality and caring attitude.

Modern facilities and equipments well as internationality qualified doctors and medical staff have enabledThailandto promote itself as a first-class destination for those who are seeking top quality medical treatment.

Under the guidance and regulations of Ministry of Public Health, the country has shown its commitment to maintaining its position as a leader in quality patient care. Excellence medical facilities have enabled Thai hospitals to perform and provide world-standard medical services to a rapidly demand from the global market.

HOSPITAL SERVICES IN THAILAND

Hospital Services inThailandare provided the public and private sectors. In terms of the number of beds, the government owned hospitals account for about 70 per cent of all beds. The Ministry of Public Health provides health services mainly in rural areas, through its own facilities. However, due to the greater encouragement of private participation in the national and international economy, the past decade has seen a remarkably rapid growth in the number of private hospitals and beds.

Tertiary medical care and specialized services are provided in major cities by Ministry of Public Health hospitals, university hospitals and large private hospitals, all of which are staffed by specialized experts able to provide medical services that match top international standards. For consumer protection, medical services are regulated by Medical Council of Thailand to ensure that the highest medical standards and quality of care are maintained.

ADVANCED HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT

Excellent hospitals are located throughout the Kingdom, ready to provide emergency services 24 hours a day. Fast and reliable ambulance services are available to transport patients to tertiary care centers if necessary. In addition, helicopters and fixed-wing air ambulances are provided for longer distances transportation between provinces or to other countries.

Many hospitals use electronic medical record systems and some also employ Picture Achieving and Communication Systems (PACS). Te patients medical records, radiological films and medical imagery can be transmitted on line via telephone, satellite an optical cable connection anywhere and at anytime. Wit such technology, every patient can be confident that their medical record can be transferred to their personal physicians whenever required.

QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED PERSONNEL

Thai physicians are capable of providing excellent service and treatment covering every medical field. The majority have received their medical education and training at renowned international medical schools and institutes in countries such as theUnited Kingdom, theUnited States,Canada,Germany,AustraliaandJapan. Many physicians have spent years of additional overseas studying and practice before relocating back toThailand. Therefore, they are able to provide their patients with treatment and care based on excellent medical qualifications and experience.

SERVICE FOR INTERNATIONAL PATIENTS

In addition to general medical care, Thai hospitals provide related services such as specialized medical clinics, skilled nursing care, long term care, nursing homes, rehabilitation clinics etc. Foreign patients can be assisted by interpreters / co-coordinators whenever there is the need for such service, so the problem of a language barrier does not arise. Other readily available service includes airport escort as well as assistance with visa extensions, hotel reservation and patient referral services.

The rising cost of health care also a major factor in selecting where to go for treatment and related services in Thailand are comparable  to anywhere in the world, yet at less than half the cost in, for example, the United States and Europe, have already convinced many foreigners to undergo specialized medical and surgical procedures in this country.

Rehabilitation can help patients to regain maximal functional independence after being discharged from acute treatment hospitals. In fact, in many cases, not ensuring that a patient receives adequate rehabilitation can be considered unethical. However, rehabilitation programmes are normally more lobour-intensive and require longer duration than treatment of the majority of acute short term medical and surgical conditions. Thus, it has become increasingly difficult for healthcare cost managers to simultaneously provide high – quality rehabilitation while maintaining reasonable charges.
