Ambassador Suvat Chirapant on 30 April hosted the meeting and a
luncheon among The Asian Ambassadors Group in Mexico City. Comprised of 18 Ambassadors of the Asia region defined by the UN regional concept the Group was formed to include the Ambassadors with residence in Mexico City. Formed in October 2011 the Group aims to promote Asia in Mexico through various forms. Last month they hosted the Asian Cultural Festival which was co hosted by the City of Mexico. On 28 April 2012, The Royal Thai Embassy in Mexico City acted as the Examination Center for a Thai University Student to undertake her Exams in Mexico. Police Captain Sawichaya Tanawichai studying at Sukhothai Tamatirat University in the Kingdom of Thailand, has sought the permission from the University to take the examination out of the country as she is among the 15 Thai Police Officers to presently serve the country in a deployment at Port Au Prince in Haiti. Thailand has sent a police contingent to assist the United Nations and International Community in operation to provide safety and security for Haitians after the devastating earthquake of 2010. In addition, Thailand has provided large amounts of assistance to the country both in cash and in kind.
