H.E. Chirachai Punkrasin presents his credentials to the Mexican President

presidente1Today (February 14th, 2013), His Excellency Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Mexico has the honor of presenting his Letter of Credence  as the representative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Head of State of Thailand to His Excellency Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the United Mexican States.

During the ceremony, the Thai Ambassador also conveyed the warm regards and best wishes from Her Excellency Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, to the Mexican President.

Furthermore, Ambassador Chirachai outlined the priorities for the Royal Thai Embassy in the months ahead:

  • To strengthen relations between the two countries and promote visits and meetings at all levels including leaders, policy-makers and at the working level, through cooperation in various bilateral and multilateral fora.
 
  • To expand bilateral trade and investment. Two–way trade stands at 2.2 billion US dollars in 2012. There exists much potential to expand trade further in many areas including automotive, fisheries and textiles. More interaction between business people from both countries will be encouraged.
 
  • To build relations at the people-to-people level through greater cultural and educational exchanges. The Royal Thai Embassy has engaged in many activities throughoutMexicoto raise awareness aboutThailand. We will further promote Thai food at various ferias as well as Muay Thai Boxing in a more organized manner. In addition, activities relating to academic exchanges as well as exposure ofThailandto the general Mexican public will be further undertaken and expanded.
